Itinerary:

8:30 am: Hotel Pick-up
Begin your day with a pick-up from your hotel and travel up the mountain road through Doi Suthep–Pui National Park to Doi Suthep Temple, Chiang Mai’s most revered site, located 1,100 meters above sea level. Choose to walk up the 306 steps or take the funicular to the temple. Marvel at the golden pagoda, Buddha relic, and intricate murals, and receive a blessing from a monk. Enjoy panoramic views of Chiang Mai from the temple terrace.

10:30 am: Doi Pui Hmong Village
Continue your ascent for 8 km to the Hmong Village, a community that has been home to the Hmong Tribe for nearly half a century. Immerse yourself in Hmong culture by exploring traditional homes, visiting the small museum, and browsing local handicrafts. Take in the scenic mountain views and learn about the Hmong way of life.

12:00 pm: Lunch
Savor a delicious lunch at a local restaurant, enjoying traditional Northern Thai dishes in a comfortable setting.

1:00 pm: Wat Phra Singh
In the afternoon, visit Wat Phra Singh, an exemplary model of classic Lanna-style architecture. Explore the grand monastery and admire the revered Phra Phuttha Sihing statue, an important symbol in Chiang Mai’s spiritual landscape.

2:00 pm: Wat Chedi Luang
Next, head to Wat Chedi Luang, known as “The Temple of the Great Stupa.” Discover the majestic ruins of this once towering chedi, which was the tallest structure in Chiang Mai. Learn about its historical significance and the impact of the 1545 earthquake on its structure.

3:00 pm: Wat Umong
Proceed to Wat Umong, a tranquil 700-year-old temple renowned for its underground tunnels (umong). Explore the ancient murals believed to be the oldest Lanna period paintings, and enjoy a peaceful walk around the small lake where you can feed fish and turtles. Experience the serene atmosphere of the surrounding forest and open zoo.

4:00 pm: Wat Chiang Man
Conclude your temple tour at Wat Chiang Man, the oldest temple in Chiang Mai, built in 1296. Admire the unique Lanna-style chedi supported by rows of elephant-shaped buttresses and learn about the temple’s historical importance.

5:00 pm: Return to Hotel
Wrap up your enriching day with a return to your hotel. Reflect on the rich cultural and historical experiences you’ve enjoyed throughout the day.
